Griseofulvin is an antifungal antibiotic derived from Penicillium griseofulvum. It exhibits activity primarily against dermatophytes and other filamentous fungi and is widely used in microbiology and cell biology research. Griseofulvin is commonly applied to inhibit fungal growth and as a tool to study microtubule function and mitosis in eukaryotic cells.
