Murashige & Skoog Medium Modification No. 3A is a modified MS formulation in which the concentrations of ammonium nitrate (NH₄NO₃) and potassium nitrate (KNO₃) are reduced to 50% of the standard MS level, while all other components remain unchanged. This formulation is designed to reduce total nitrogen availability and ionic strength, helping to prevent ammonium toxicity and excessive vegetative growth.
