Quoirin & Lepoivre Medium, commonly referred to as QL medium, is a plant tissue culture medium developed for the in vitro culture and micropropagation of woody plant species. The formulation is characterized by a relatively low ammonium concentration and a nutrient balance adapted to the physiological requirements of woody tissues. It is especially suitable for the growth and development of Prunus species plantlets, including cherry, peach, plum, and almond. The medium supports stable shoot proliferation and healthy plantlet development while minimizing physiological disorders. Compared with more concentrated basal media, QL medium provides improved compatibility for Prunus and other tree species.
