Murashige & Skoog Medium, including MES buffer, is a formulation of MS basal medium supplemented with the buffering agent MES (2-(N-morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid). The addition of MES stabilizes the pH of the culture medium during in vitro growth. Stable pH conditions support nutrient availability and metabolic processes in plant tissues.
