Lindemann Orchid Medium was originally developed in 1970 for the in vitro culture of Cattleya orchids and has since been widely applied to the propagation of various orchid species. The formulation contains defined macro- and micronutrients optimized for orchid tissue development. Nitrogen is supplied as ammonium sulfate and calcium nitrate, supporting differentiation and the formation of protocorm-like bodies (PLBs). Potassium dihydrogen phosphate provides phosphate while contributing to buffering stability. Essential microelements, including manganese, molybdenum, copper, iron, aluminum, zinc, and boron, support metabolic activity and carbohydrate metabolism during early developmental stages.
